synchro dads

Yesterday was Father’s day and we’d like to say thanks to all of the rad dads, guardians and grandpas out there who have touched our lives as skaters and individuals.

We spend $14.6 billion to show our love and appreciation to our fabulous mamas on Mother’s Day. In comparison, we spend $9.4 billion to honour dad on Father’s Day – H&R Block

That’s a 5 billion dollar difference. Money aside, are we giving dads the credit they deserve?

To all of the fathers out there who woke up early to drive their sleepy skater over to the rink or the late nights spent watching them rehearse their programs over and over again. To the bitter winters and cold toes. To the summers that you’d rather be outside but you stayed at the rink to watch. To the grandpa who always asks, “how is skating?” To the dad who stood proudly in the stands (or glued to the livestream), waving a flag and shouting — for you, your daughter, son or the skater in your life.

We want to hear your stories. What has your dad done for you as a skater or parent? Email us or leave a comment. We’ll share our favourite story next week!

Thank you for being our everything and more — we love you, dad.
